TURKCOMPOSITE 2026 opens in Istanbul: 143 companies from 25 countries and a three-day conference
The composites fair held on 21–23 October at the Istanbul Fair Centre covered the whole value chain from raw materials to recycling, including a session on the circular economy in the plastics value chain.

The TURKCOMPOSITE 2026 International Composites Fair opened at the Istanbul Fair Centre on 21 October 2026 and ran until 23 October. The fair was organised by CNG Expo and the Composites Industrialists Association (KSD), with support from the Investment Office of the Presidency and İstanbul Fuar Merkezi.
Scale: About 14,000 m² with 143 companies from 25 countries and more than 200 brands. Participants include BAYKAR, HAVELSAN, ROKETSAN and TUSAŞ. The organisers expected more than 4,000 international professional visitors, mainly from Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Turkic republics, Russia and the CIS, the Middle East and North Africa; this is a projection, not a reported attendance figure.
Conference programme (three days):
- Day 1: a keynote by Ergün Kırlıkovalı, panels on the sustainable development of the sector, a Presidents' Forum and a signing for JEC Composites Talks İzmir (27 May 2027).
- Day 2: energy transition, R&D, testing and automotive applications; a TUSAŞ–KSD signing.
- Day 3: the circular economy in the plastics value chain, robotics, digitalisation and a "Composite Veterans" panel.
The main themes were the full value chain from raw materials and resins to machinery, automation, testing and recycling; application sectors include aerospace, defence, automotive, energy (especially wind), construction, rail and maritime.
What does this mean for a molder?
Composite very often means fibre-reinforced plastic. If you mould glass-fibre-filled polyamide or PP, you are part of the same value chain. For the shrinkage and orientation differences of reinforced materials, see our shrinkage guide.
