Engel to run four live machines at Plastimagen 2026, spotlighting its AI assistant EVA
At Plastimagen in Mexico City on 10–13 November, Engel will mold four different parts live, from an agricultural crate to a medical syringe plunger; its EVA virtual assistant for operators can also be retrofitted to existing machines.

Austrian injection molding machine maker Engel will run four machines live on its stand at Plastimagen, held at Centro Citibanamex in Mexico City on 10–13 November 2026. The focus is on cost-efficient high-volume production and AI support on the shop floor.
Parts to be produced at the show:
- an agricultural transport crate,
- an automotive connector,
- a silicone soap dish (liquid silicone molding),
- a medical syringe plunger in polypropylene on an all-electric victory electric 220.
Engel is also showcasing EVA (Engel Virtual Assistant), which aims to give machine operators the knowledge they need at the moment they need it. It is offered as an option on new Engel and WINTEC cells and can be retrofitted to existing machines with CC300 or C3 control systems.
What does this mean for a molder?
Machine makers now compete not only on tonnage and speed but also on software that captures operator know-how. In shops short of experienced setters, such assistants can reduce setup errors — but the real gain comes when you keep your own process records (reference settings, defect history) in order.
