Beverage producer Badem Pınarı agreed with machine maker Krones at the Interpack fair in Germany on new-generation production systems. The investment is about 6 million euros. Board member Kaan Badem said the company sees sustainable production as a responsibility rather than a preference.

According to the report:

  • Annual bottle production capacity will rise from 33 to 39 million, about 25%.
  • The investment focuses on lower plastic use and lightweight packaging technologies; the report gives no specific reduction percentage.
  • The systems will include Industry 4.0 solutions for real-time monitoring and efficiency analysis, aiming at better energy, raw material and operational efficiency.
  • No specific machine model is named.

What does this mean for a molder?

Bottle and closure producers now compete not only on capacity but on lightness: doing the same job with fewer grams helps with raw material, energy, and deposit and packaging rules. For molders of closures and preforms this means thinner walls, shorter cycles and tighter weight tolerances; be ready for customer requests to cut grams. See our article on cutting cycle time.
