Polipak Plastik raises its 12,300-tonne capacity with a new plant in Bilecik 3rd OSB
Polipak, which has made PP strapping for over 40 years, is building a new plant on a 50-decare site in Bilecik; its lines are designed to run on 100% recycled raw material.

Kocaeli-based Polipak Plastik is building a new plant on a 50-decare site in Bilecik 3rd Organised Industrial Zone (OSB). The company has made polypropylene (PP) strapping for more than 40 years.
- Existing plant: 6,500 m² of covered space in Gebze Plastikçiler OSB, which also produces PET strapping and the company's patented product Süperbant.
- Capacity: Annual capacity is currently 12,300 tonnes. Founder Kambiz Vatandost said the new plant will raise it further; no new capacity figure was given.
- Recycling: The lines are designed to run on 100% recycled raw material: PET bottle flakes for PET strapping and recycled PP for PP strapping.
- Markets: Heavy industry, ceramics, wood, agriculture and paper, in Türkiye and in exports from Europe to the Middle East.
The report does not give the investment amount or employment figures.
What does this mean for a molder?
Strapping is extruded, not injection molded, but growing demand for recycled PP also affects the price and availability of the rPP molders use. If you run rPP, do a trial and check drying against batch-to-batch flow differences; see our raw material drying guide.
