According to the Istanbul Chemicals and Chemical Products Exporters' Association (İKMİB), the chemical sector exported 3.07 billion dollars in September. That is a 25% rise on the same month last year and the sector's best September on record.

  • January–September: Exports exceeded 25.8 billion dollars, up 6.4%, the highest nine-month level ever.
  • Ranking: Türkiye's total September exports were about 26 billion dollars, and chemicals was the second-largest exporting sector.
  • Target: İKMİB chairman Vefa İbrahim Aracı said the sector is on track for its 35 billion dollar export target for 2026.

The report gave no separate figure for plastics and plastic products. Plastic raw materials and products are among the product groups covered by İKMİB.

What does this mean for a molder?

Growth in chemical exports does not mean plastic product exports grew by the same rate; the plastics share will be clear only when İKMİB's detailed breakdown is published. Still, when foreign demand is strong, quoting speed matters for export orders. For cycle time and tonnage when preparing a quote, use our calculator.
