ALPLA invests 30 million euros in two new Turkish factories
Packaging maker ALPLA is raising its Turkish processing capacity from 90,000 to 120,000 tonnes with new plants in Adana and Izmir, with a further 40 million euros planned over the next five years.
Global packaging and recycling company ALPLA has invested a combined 30 million euros in two new factories in Turkey — 10 million euros in Adana and 20 million euros in Izmir — to strengthen its local production base. The new plants will raise ALPLA's annual processing capacity in Turkey from 90,000 to 120,000 tonnes.
Having invested roughly 100 million euros in Turkey since 1992, ALPLA plans a further 40 million euros over the next five years, aiming to grow capacity by 25% and revenue by 40%. The two new plants will create 200 direct jobs plus knock-on economic activity — logistics, maintenance, security and local supply — affecting around 1,000 people in total.
What does this mean for a molder?
Capacity expansion by major packaging producers signals growing competition and opportunity in the regional supply chain (raw materials, tooling, spare parts); the Adana and Izmir plants add to ALPLA's existing sites in Kocaeli, Ankara and Konya.
