PAGEV International officially established in Belgium

PAGEV has founded a Brussels-based EU civil-society body so Turkish and European plastics manufacturers can feed directly into EU regulation; the formal approvals are complete.

The Turkish Plastics Industry Foundation (PAGEV) has founded a new civil-society organization, "PAGEV International," in Belgium so that Turkish and European plastics manufacturers can contribute directly to EU regulatory processes. The entity was established under Belgian law and has completed the required official approvals.

PAGEV Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu said the new body will let the industry communicate directly with the European Commission and relevant EU institutions, creating an important channel for conveying the Turkish plastics industry's views to regulators.

What does this mean for a molder?

New EU recycling and single-use-plastics rules affect Turkish manufacturers directly too (export standards, packaging requirements). A stronger representation channel may reduce the risk of rules being imposed from outside on the sector — worth following.
