Kreate builds new $100 million injection molding plant in Ohio
Storage products maker Kreate is investing $100 million in a new 542,000-square-foot facility in Tiffin, Ohio, equipped with 32 Engel injection machines; around 120 people will be employed at the plant.
Nickolas Asset Management and storage/shelving systems maker Kreate have announced a $100 million investment in a new 542,000-square-foot (roughly 50,000 m²) manufacturing facility in Tiffin, Ohio. The plant will be equipped with 32 new Engel injection machines fitted with iQ weight control technology, integrated with Fanuc collaborative robots, automated guided vehicles and automated packaging lines. Production is planned to start on October 1, 2026; around 120 people will be employed at the plant in mold maintenance, production engineering, robotics/automation and logistics.
The project will also use Krevera's computer-vision-based AI platform, which connects production equipment so machines can make real-time automatic corrections, aiming to improve speed, quality and material efficiency.
Engel's iQ weight control is a typical application of the scientific molding approach, which aims to keep shot-to-shot weight constant; you can read more on this topic in our article what is scientific molding.
