Chinese injection machine maker Yizumi opens a technology center in Silivri
Yizumi, one of the world's largest injection machine makers, has made its first investment in Turkey with a 2,000 m² technology center in Silivri, Istanbul.
Yizumi, one of China's largest injection machine manufacturers with annual revenue exceeding $1 billion, has made its first investment in Turkey by opening a 2,000 m² technology center in the Silivri district of Istanbul.
The center houses injection, die-casting and 3D printing equipment; it will provide engineering training and R&D support to local customers, and is also planned to provide fast service to customers in the Middle East and Europe through a local engineering team and spare-parts warehouse. Yizumi CEO James Zhang said the investment would make a significant contribution to the company's growth goals in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. PAGEV Chairman Yavuz Eroğlu called it "an important first step," noting that the industry expects the company to invest in a manufacturing facility in Turkey in the future as well.
What does this mean for a molder?
A major machine manufacturer opening a local technology center can mean shorter wait times for service and spare parts — especially during a breakdown, having access to the machine maker's own team locally can also make it easier to get local technical support for fundamental machine-selection decisions such as clamping force.
